The first hour of the day sets the tone. For my older clients, friction in the morning — fumbling for medication, squinting at small print, calling a family member to read the weather — compounds into a worse afternoon. Three small devices change this.

Step 1: A pill dispenser that does the remembering

Set it once, refill it weekly. The morning dose is ready and announces itself. No bottles, no counting, no "did I take it?"

Step 2: A magnifier lamp at the breakfast table

Mail, prescription bottles, the newspaper — all suddenly readable without holding things at arm's length.

Step 3: A smart display for weather, news, and the kids

"Alexa, show me the weather." "Alexa, call my daughter." Lower friction than picking up a phone.
